"Yosuke's down!"
Kanji scowled as he heard Teddie's panicked cry- they'd all been effected by the Mamudo, but it had only hit Yosuke, and the way he was crumpled on the ground left nothing to the imagination.
"Senpai, I got this!"
Yu nodded, and he and Yukiko moved in to cover him as he ran to Yosuke, the pair drawing the beetle's attention away from Kanji and trying to take it down before it can send out another Mamudo.
Kanji pulls a string of beads from his pocket, gripping it tightly in one hand, while the other goes to check Yosuke's pulse- nothing.
Yoskue was dead.
"Damn it, Yosuke-senpai!" Kanji unknotted the string, pulling one bead off carefully. Behind him, Yukiko set the beetle on fire, and Kanji tucked the string of beads back in his pocket, before shoving the bead in Yosuke's mouth.
The effects were instantanious, a bright blue light flairing around Yosuke's body as his head started back up, and he took in a ragged breath of air, bruises fading and cuts healing.
By the time the light faded away, Yosuke looked, if not as good as new, then no where near death.
"Stop dying on us, Senpai!" Kanji pulled Yosuke to his feet before summoning Take-Mikazuchi, jumping back into the fray with a slightly ragged looking Jiraiya at it's side.
